The solidarity rally at Ochanja-Iweka road in Onitsha by the residents and traders issued a warning to heroic politicians in the state to stop politicizing the purported video clips that were masterminded and engineered by them to distract the Anambra State Governor, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo.
The rally was organized to show support for Soludo’s significant road infrastructure projects in the state, following a viral video of a road built by the Governor that was washed away by heavy rainfall.
Speaking at the rally on Wednesday, the Onitsha residents dismissed the video as a mere attempt to undermine the governor’s efforts and stated that we are in the era of governance and not campaigning era.
Addressing the media, Chief Okwudili Obinwanne, leader of the rally, expressed their opposition to the tactics of desperate politicians who are trying to discredit Soludo’s work at Ochanja -Iweka road in Onitsha metropolis.
According to Obinwanne, the recent incident with the road was not a cause for criticism, as the construction process was interrupted by a sudden heavy rain, causing the asphalt layer to be dislodged.
He emphasized that previous administrations had neglected the road for years, but under Soludo’s leadership, significant progress has been made in improving the infrastructure, including roads of high quality built to the best standards.
They emphasized their zero tolerance for any politician attempting to play dirty politics with the welfare of the community, praising Soludo for his dedication to enhancing the state’s infrastructure.
At the rally, the participants carried placards with various inscriptions “Soludo bu God sent ndi Anambra” and urged the politicians to stop distracting the governor and applauding the standard of the roads constructed under his administration.
