Onitsha South Council Boss Flags Off Ward Tour In Odoakpu Ward 1 & 2

Ahead of the local government elections in line with the recent Supreme Court judgment, Onitsha South Local Government Transitional Committee Chairman, Hon. Chief Emeka Joseph Orji, Dikediebube, kicked start the tour of the seventeenth wards in the council area with the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.

It was with great excitement and jubilation that the entourage of the council chairman was received at the Odoakpu ward 1 where the flag-off of the 17 wards tour started.

The chairman of Odoakpu Ward 1, Mr. Emeka Ezike in his address welcomed the council boss and his entourage on behalf of the Exco and the APGA faithful of Odoakpu Ward 1 and reiterated that the ward is ready for the task ahead.

The APGA chairman of Onitsha South LG, Mr Uchenna Umennakenyi attested to the faithfulness and hard work of the Odoakpu ward One party leader.

Speaking at the event, Chief Emeka Orji stated that to whom honor is given, much is expected.

He further said that Onitsha South is one of the luckiest Local Governments in the state to benefit from the many projects of governor Soludo in the state. And that’s because of his commitment, consistency and perseverance to bringing these projects to the attention of the listening and empathetic governor of Anambra State.

Though, Hon Orji reiterated that the last 21 months of his previous administration should be considered a learning curve, that now he has mastered about people-oriented governance, and he is ready and committed to bringing total reform in his administration going forward.

“We have an ongoing pet project. That is to turn the River Niger Bank side at the Niger Street, into an entertainment garden. Where after completion, our people would go to relax, have fun, and enjoy, prolonging their lives. This project has kicked off and after completion, it would attract tourists which would boost the revenue of our local government and the state too,” Dikediebube stated.

The Mayor of Onitsha South LGA, in fulfillment of his promise to alleviate poverty in each Ward in the 17 wards in Onitsha South LGA, lived up to that promise to put smiles on the faces of five indigent people in each ward, thus, Odoakpu Ward 1 & 2 received theirs during the tour.

After Odoakpu Ward 1, the entourage of Hon. Emeka Orji made it further to Odoakpu Ward 2 as scheduled.

Odoakpu ward 2 chairman, Mr. Chike Ezeibe in his address, welcomed Dikediebube Onitsha South and his entourage. He stated that Ward 2 has formidable APGA faithful who are committed to carrying out any task that will add value to the party.

In his speech, Chief Emeka Orji thanked the party faithful and reiterated that Onitsha South will restore carnival to the council area.

“We have already set up a committee that will communicate with all the PGs in all the neighboring local governments. Achebe Stadium, Fegge would be the grand finale,” he said.
