The Tenant–Landlord Association of Odume, Obosi, held a well-attended meeting that ended in grand style as residents and political stakeholders pledged their commitment toward the upcoming November 8, 2025 election.

The highlight of the gathering was the presence of Hon. Ifeanyi Okoma, Commissioner for Works, who urged residents to turn out en masse on election day. He emphasized the importance of safeguarding votes within the polling units, cautioning against electoral malpractice.

“Protect your vote. Don’t allow it to be counted outside the polling unit. Come out in numbers and let your voice be heard,” Okoma charged, in what many described as a spirited campaign message.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the Tenant–Landlord Association, Hon. Innocent Agucha, appealed to electoral authorities to ensure early delivery of ballot boxes to Odume. According to him, delays experienced during the previous election must not be repeated.

“Odume has a large voter population. We need ballot boxes to arrive on time so that everyone can participate fully,” Agucha stressed.

The meeting also featured passionate interventions from members. Mrs Ijeoma Christian recounted a troubling past experience where she allegedly faced threats to her life after rejecting a ₦200,000 inducement to compromise a by-election.

“I almost lost my life because I refused money to help rig an election. All we are asking for is adequate security so we can continue doing our good works without fear,” she said.

The event, marked by unity and determination, set the tone for what promises to be a decisive outing for the people of Odume Obosi as they prepare for the 2025 polls.
