The TC Chairman of Onitsha South LGA Hon Emeka Orji Visited B Line, Ọgbọ Osisi, Wrought Iron Dealers Area, Bridge Head Market opposite Eco Bank along Port Harcourt Road, Fegge Onitsha where the Fire outbreak took place.
The inferno which started yesterday night affected more than five shops but no life was lost.
The TC Chairman consoled the victims and promised that the government would put safety measures in place to avoid future occurrences.
Health and Safety of lives and properties is our number one priority, he added.
He advised that people should always obtain approval from the government before constructing or building anything in the market and in the council area.
While addressing the traders in the market, he advised them to always switch off their electrical appliances before leaving their shops for the day.
He also warned them against illegal electrical wiring and connections.
He prayed that God would replenish all that was lost and wished the victims better days ahead.
