The All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, Ogbaru Local Government Area, Anambra state in preparation for the coming gubernatorial election weekend Inaugurated 21 Man Committee in Ogboefere market, honored the market chairman, Mr. Innocent Munonye, for his contributions to the market and humanitarian services which afforded him the honor.
Bestowing the award (plaque), of ‘Ambassador’ on him in recognition of his outstanding performance the Ogbaru APGA chairman, Pastor Onochie Obiora, urged the market boss not to relent in serving humanity but rather to maintain the tempo of his humanitarian services adding that he has now been honored to assist in returning Governor Charles Soludo for a second tenure.
A 21-man market committee which was led by the chairman, Munonye, was inaugurated by the APGA chairman to create awareness of the achievements of the governor and intensify campaign efforts in the market on the need to return Soludo.
He recalled how the people of the Okpoko community saw it as a mission impossible when the governor pledged to commence work on Okpoko on the assumption of duty describing the pledge as a mere political statement that would not see the light of day.
“But surprisingly the governor true to his pledge has built roads, a hospital, and mounted street lights, thereby changing the face of Okpoko to become the proposed new haven in under two years.
“Consequently, we came to Inaugurate you today to make sure that the good news of the work of the governor is well spread and encourage you not to relent in your efforts to spread the good news about Soludo’s achievements that have opened a new chapter in the state,”; he pleaded.
In his post-award and inauguration speech, the market chairman paid glowing tribute to the APGA chairman and his executives for finding him worthy to be so honored and pledged not to leave any stone unturned in ensuring that Governor Soludo is returned for a second tenure adding that his achievements are there for all to see and will speak for him on the election day.
Mr. Munonye, who also doubles as the Chief Executive Officer, CEO of Born Great Cornerstone West African Ltd, and popularly called ‘Nze Chukwubunyegi,’ by his admirers, assured that with the honour done to him, no other political party will win in the market and its environs and by extension the entire Ogbaru Local Government Area.
According to him, “We were under ward six but they now created Ogboefere chapter with 21-man executive. In ward six we have been battling with all the political parties that include, APC, PDP, LP, among others but with what happened today I don’t think any other party will defeat APGA,” he affirmed.
He disclosed that the good things that are happening in the market have not happened in the past 30 years, disclosing that he empowered 20 wheelbarrow pushers with #100,000 each, in commemoration of his late father who was a wheelbarrow pusher in the market and also empowered five youths from the five Southeast states with #500,000 each, to support their businesses, among other philanthropist aids to the downtrodden.
Expressing his joy at the honor done to him, he said, “I took it up on myself to support financially, to make people vote for APGA because what Governor Soludo is doing is marvelous, I will make sure he comes back for a second tenure.”
Speaking, the former president of the market, Chief Stanley Anyikwa, lauded the Governor for the new face of Okpoko which according to him none of the past governors could achieve stating that all the roads he contracted out were constructed with drainages.
“Our customers have returned because of the roads, I charged the newly Inaugurated members to make sure that the governor’s good message is spread everywhere they go, and I promise to coordinate people for-election of Governor Soludo,”:he pledged.
Mr Daniel Ibekilo, the secretary of the market, stated that they have been doing their job by spreading the good news, saying that the governor has made their job less by his performance which made them answer “Nze for Soludo”, due to our chairman’s title, Nze, for his financial support in all we are doing,”; he stated.
Also, Chief Sir Kingsley Uwakwe, treasurer, said that Soludo’s re-election is assured because of his competence and ability to take the state to the next level.
