The Commissioner of Police CP Ikioye Orutugu fwc MNIPS PhD today, 24th April 2025, joined News Central TV at Radisson-Onyx Hotel for a security Town Hall Meeting. The meeting was aimed at interacting with the citizens, especially Ndi Anambra, where thoughts on security concerns were provoked. The security stability of the State was also x-rayed and suggestions proffered to improve safety and security in the State.

The CP reiterated the need for Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) to resolve issues bordering on disputes over Land, such as Kingship tussles, boundary issues, farmers/herders clashes, and/or any other related issues. He noted that some of these issues, if not properly addressed, degenerate into serious crimes and crises.

The CP seeks greater community engagements, resources, and intelligence to improve the security operations that can help the Police Command to better understand the community needs and concerns, as well as improve security in every area of the State. He also decries the level of moral decay and calls on parents/guardians to be better role models to their children/wards by creating a deliberate relationship with them, as it will help to assess and direct them properly.
In attendance were other sister agencies like NSCDC, FRSC, Traditional rulers, Vigilante groups, Civil society groups, pressmen, women groups, different Anambra State youth forums, and other relevant Stakeholders.

This approach recognizes that security is a collective responsibility and that community involvement is essential to achieving lasting peace and stability.
