Ngbo/Izhiangbo Marks Colorful Yam Festival in Onitsha

Onitsha, Anambra State – The Ngbo/Izhiangbo gathered in grand style at the Holiday Resort, Onitsha, to celebrate their annual Yam Festival, an event that drew a large turnout of personalities, community leaders, and well-wishers.

Speaking at the celebration, the President-General of Ebonyi indigenes in Anambra, Hon. Moses Ofoke (popularly known as Mos Frank), described the festival as a unifying tradition that fosters peace and togetherness among the people.

“It is a great thing for the people of Ebonyi to come together and celebrate this wonderful festival once a year. I urge all Ebonyians to always remember that we are one people, and the most important thing is to be our brother’s keeper,” Ofoke said.

Also addressing the gathering, the Deputy Director of Sasa, Hon. Uwada, who represented the Director, Hon. Monday Nwokoye, conveyed warm greetings and goodwill to the community. He encouraged participants to uphold good conduct, stressing the importance of peaceful coexistence and mutual respect in the state.

The cultural festival, filled with dance, traditional displays, and communal sharing, highlighted the resilience of the people in preserving their heritage while strengthening unity among Ebonyians living in Anambra.
