Chief Emeka Orji, in his office at the secretariat.

The visit was to establish the working relationship between the health representative and the council authorities, also to bring all hospitals in the local government under regulatory control, thereby ensuring the safety of lives, a conducive environment, and establishing a cordial relationship between patients and the health practitioners.

The NHF program is across the 774 LGAs in Nigeria and is an initiative designed to strengthen the healthcare system by developing and promoting leadership in the health sector. It will help drive health reforms, improve health outcomes, and address key health challenges in Onitsha South Local Government Area.

Meanwhile, the council Mayor, Chief Orji welcomed the NHF representatives and pledged his readiness to collaborate with the initiatives and he promised to give them all the necessary support
to achieve the desired goals.

“His Excellency, the Governor of Anambra State, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR, has a special concern about the health sector; the Governor built five world-class general hospitals across the State, and we are privileged to have one.

“The health sector received a lot of attention and transformation under the able leadership of the Governor Soludo-led administration, who focused on improving the health of every Anambra resident.

“Such transformation is evident in the area of infrastructure, state-of-the-art equipment, and quality health services to save lives and prevent diseases.

“Health is wealth. Without health, you can’t work, go to school, or market. This is the reason Mr. Governor invested heavily in the health sector in collaboration with all segments of society,” the
Mayor stated.
