Chairman of Onitsha South Local Government Area, Chief Emeka Joseph Orji has described as false and malicious the allegations by the Spokesman of the Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB, Mr Emma Powerful that he is recruiting criminals and thugs as security operatives in the name of Eastern Security Network ESN.
He further contended that the state government had a security body which is legally known as Anambra Vigilante Services AVS from which security personnel of the Council area are drawn and not criminals.
According to the Secretary of Onitsha South Local Government Area, Mr. Paul Onuachalla who spoke for The Chairman Hon Emeka Joseph Orji described those allegations as not only laughable but the antics of paid agents to rubbish the good works of the Chairman and extension of the administration of Gov Charles Soludo.
“It is of note that we have the Anambra Vigilante Services AVS where the personnel and officers of the Security unit of the Council area are drawn from and the process of recruitment is transparent while President Generals of communities where they come from must attest to their character.
“We want to believe that Emma Powerful must have been misled by rumor mongers and political jobbers who could not lay hands on any issue about the Council Area chose attempt to rubbish the good works our Chairman is doing.
“The Gov Charles Soludo administration has zero tolerance to crime and criminality hence cannot renege on his policy trust of making Anambra a peaceful smart city homeland by recruiting criminals.
“We wish to urge Mr Emma Powerful not to allow himself to be misled by joiners and peddlers of falsehood all in the name of the Biafran struggle and he should also recall the selfless efforts made by the Governor in security of The freedom of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and amount to not appreciating those moves by profiling both Onitsha South Local Government Area and The Government of Anambra state,” he said.
Onuachalla reiterated the resolve of the Soludo administration to ensure that Anambra state is safe from brigandage advising the IPOB Spokesman to channel his energy on something else.
