ANAMBRA – In a demonstration of true leadership and solidarity with the people, the Mayor of Onitsha South local government and National Coordinator for Soludo Solution 2025, Chief Emeka Orji, Dike Di Ebube, has paid a condolence visit to the Akanegbu family on the death of Hon. Emeka Akanegbu Ignatius, who passed away on August 11, 2025, after a brief illness.

In a statement by his media aide, Ikechukwu Eze – Senator Iyke, the Mayor described the deceased as an epitome of selfless service and urged the family members and sympathizers to take a cue from the deceased’s life of selfless service to the community and to humanity, noting that since death is inevitable, people would only be remembered for whatever they did or stood for while on earth.

While extending his sympathies to the bereaved family, the Council Mayor assured them that the entire Onitsha South Local Government and its leadership share in their grief and stand firmly with them in this trying moment.

According to the deceased wife, Mrs Akanegbu Chioma and the family, the remains of Hon. Akanegbu Ignatius Emeka would be laid to rest in the mother earth in September 2025, at his country home, Urua Amada, Oraukwu in Idemili North LG.

Accompanied by top political officials including Council Legal Adviser, Barr. Stanley Okafor; SA on political, Hon. Dunu Chiadikaobi; former council Deputy Mayor, Hon. Maria Okoye.
Others in his entourage include Supervisory Councillor for Education, Hon. Echezona Dunu; Supervisory Councillor on Health, Hon. Mrs Ebele Udodeme.
