ANAMBRA STATE – In his effort to guarantee stable electricity, the Executive Mayor of Onitsha South local government area and National Coordinator for Soludo Solution 2025, Hon. Ambassador Emeka Orji, Dike di Ebube facilitated the procurement of four brand new 500 KVA (Kilo Volt-Amperes) transformers and installed to address the prevailing challenges faced by the populace due to inadequate power supply in the metropolitan areas.
These transformers will serve communities suffering from prolonged blackouts due to outdated and faulty power infrastructure.
This critical intervention forms part of the Mayor’s broader development agenda aimed at enhancing the electricity supply and improving the quality of life for residents across the local government area.
According to the Mayor, the council secretariat has been blacked out for over two decades, which has affected the input and workforce of the civil servants/workers.
He further reiterated that the transformers were distributed to the areas most in need to revive the economic standard, creating more employment opportunities and enhancing the quality of life.
” You see, by the second week of this month, the transformers will start working, including this one (the secretariat transformer).
“During my campaign time, I promised my people that if they elected me, I would light up the area, chase out every form of criminality, and encourage industrialists, among others,” he stated.
The Special Adviser on political matters to the Mayor, Hon. Dunu Chiadikaobi, C-Prof, stated that the Mayor is initiating a UK standard of living, and through the aid of His Excellency, Governor Charles Soludo, Onitsha South will be a reference point.
“When you have a hard-working Mayor and Governor who understand each other, the sky will always be a starting point”, C-Prof said.
