The Hon. Commissioner of Lands and Physical Planning, Prof. Offornze Amucheazi paid a working visit to the Onitsha South Local Government Area in furtherance of the negotiation of the setback with the Nigerian premier brewery, formerly known as Life Brewery at the Port Harcourt Road, Onitsha.
The working visit of the commissioner is by the urban plan of Governor Charles Soludo to restore the originality of the Onitsha master plan.
In line with His Excellency, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo’s master plan, and restoring law and order in Onitsha Metropolis, every structure should be 19 meters away from the drainage and no one should be above the law.
The commissioner and the TC chairman of Onitsha South, Hon. Emeka Orji agreed on re-establishing beacons which would be traced by surveyors as soon as possible, and the commissioner may likely withdraw the pending case in the court with the said Brewery.
The court case emanated as a result of not heeding the timely warning given to them (Nig. Premier Brewery) which part of the warning was to remove the fence built on top of the drainage until necessary action was taken.
