Anambra State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Nkem Udeze Ph.D recently attended the SMfest Awka 2024 event organized by his constituent Sirwyte Ochije and his group of volunteers hailing it as a significant platform for advancing technology, social media, and innovation.

SMfest Awka provided attendees with invaluable insights on leveraging digital tools to enhance businesses, brands, and causes. The event was praised for its role in promoting ideas, exposure, and understanding of digitalization’s advantages.

In his remarks, Speaker Udeze expressed gratitude to the organizers led by the licensee who is also his constituent for their efforts in spotlighting Anambra as a destination for innovation, rather than merely a transit point. He commended the participation of innovative youths, citing their presence as a testament to the state’s potential and vitality.

The Speaker highlighted the alignment of SMfest Awka with the visionary programs initiated by the Executive Governor, particularly the “Solution Innovation District” and “One Youth Two Skills” initiatives. These programs aim to engage youths and cultivate a community of innovators, reflecting his ongoing efforts through initiatives like the Ogbaru Youth Parliament, in his constituency, Ogbaru II.

Speaker Udeze’s endorsement of SMfest Awka led him to register over 20 constituents for the event which underscores the Government’s commitment to empowering Anambra’s youth and fostering a culture of innovation. The event catalyzes progress, igniting a digital awakening among attendees and paving the way for a brighter, more prosperous future for the state.

Speaker Udeze also appreciated the organisers of the program led by his brother from Ogbaru Sir Whyte Ochije for this timely event and called for more partnerships for a bigger event in 2025.
