‎The convener of the summit, Salihu Lukman, noted that the objective of the meeting is not to select a presidential candidate, but to establish a framework for cooperation and coordination among the parties.

   

Nigeria’s opposition political parties are currently meeting in Abuja for a major summit aimed at strengthening cooperation ahead of the 2027 general elections.


‎Representatives of six political parties, including the African Democratic Congress, Allied Peoples Movement, Nigeria Democratic Congress (Taminu Turaki-led), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) and Social Democratic Party (SDP)— are in attendance.
